So earlier this month I posted the following on LinkedIn:
I haven’t posted for a while, as I feel I have had a mind block and my journey has slowed down.
My goal is clear!
My mindset is clear!
My next step is clear!
But something is missing!
What is holding me back?
What in my life is no longer serving my primary objective?
What am I searching for that I haven’t yet found?
If I can find the answer to these questions, my circumstance will change for the better 👌🏾.
Within 24 hours of posting this, I realised that I had been going full speed ahead since passing my coaching qualification. I had been setting up my coaching business, training, working a full time job, coaching 5 clients at a time, going gym twice a day 4 times a week, facilitating several motivational training programmes, maintaining a clean home, all whilst being a parent of two boys as well as trying to find quality time to spend with the family. It was at this point I realised I was reaching burnout! As my day to day routine became a blur and I began losing interest in the things I enjoy.
With this new found distinction, I have now stopped all that I can , aside from parenting, coaching and work. This has allowed me the opportunity to have some well needed relaxation and recreational time. During this time is where re-creation takes place, batteries recharge and a new lease of life is found!
On reflection I should have included time for recreation as part of my weekly plan, something that I have now taken on board. This is another reason why time to reflect is also important, as this provides the space to learn, make necessary changes and evolve.
I am now clear on my next steps, where, when and how to begin. However, I will be enjoying the next few weeks before I hit the floor running again.
So word to the wise, live life to the fullest, enjoy the journey you are on, take time to reflect and last but not least allow time for RECREATION!
